Our Buildings

42 Fitzwilliam Place — Georgian townhouse exterior, Dublin 2
01

42 Fitzwilliam Place

Building: Georgian terraced townhouse
Location: Fitzwilliam Place, Dublin 2

A fine Georgian terraced townhouse built as one of a pair with No. 41. Restrained detailing, vertical massing, and balanced proportions speak of quiet architectural confidence. Retained cast-iron railings and curved granite steps enrich the streetscape — the heritage character is intact; the fit-out is entirely contemporary.

38 Fitzwilliam Street Upper — Benjamin Norwood townhouse exterior
02

38 Fitzwilliam Street Upper

Building: Fine Georgian townhouse (B. Norwood, architect)
Location: Fitzwilliam Street Upper, Dublin 2

A distinguished former townhouse built by Benjamin Norwood — part of the cohesive terrace at Nos. 34–41, distinguished by rusticated granite at ground floor. The interiors are noted for their exceptional ornament: ovolo and guilloche cornices, Temple-of-the-Winds columns, Parthenon-frieze overdoors. Mellow brick, granite dressings, fine ironwork, and a handsome Doric doorcase.

14 Fitzwilliam Square — boardroom with chandelier and Georgian oil painting
03

14 Fitzwilliam Square

Building: Late-Georgian townhouse (1807–15)
Location: Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2

Among the first houses built on the east side of Fitzwilliam Square, between 1807 and 1815, with very handsome doorcases intact to this day. The Square was laid out in 1791 by surveyors J & P Roe — the last of Dublin's great Georgian squares. No. 14 sits within an unbroken late-Georgian streetscape of rare quality.

1 Fitzwilliam Square — private courtyard garden, Dublin 2
04

1 Fitzwilliam Square

Building: Pair of Georgian townhouses
Location: Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2

A pair of former townhouses retaining their traditional form and Georgian proportions. Mellow brick, granite dressings, well-executed ironwork, and a handsome Ionic doorcase. Part of the longest uninterrupted stretch of Georgian streetscape in Dublin — an address that announces itself before you even open the door.

57 Fitzwilliam Square — boardroom with marble fireplace and Georgian cornice
05

57 Fitzwilliam Square

Building: Cohesive Georgian terrace (three-bay frontage)
Location: Fitzwilliam Square, Dublin 2

Part of the cohesive terrace at Nos. 56–59 — the first terrace built on the Square itself. Narrow three-bay frontages, a distinguished Ionic doorcase, and interior joinery and friezes comparable to the finest houses on Merrion Square. The care in the original craft still shows, and our fit-out honours every detail of it.

12 St. Stephen's Green

Building: Early-C20 classicism (Carroll & Batchelor for the Provincial Bank of Ireland)
Location: St. Stephen's Green, Dublin 2

An exemplar of early-twentieth-century classicism — built by Carroll & Batchelor for the Provincial Bank of Ireland. The Italianate limestone façade, cut-limestone shopfront, pedimented doorcase, and cast-iron railings on a moulded stone plinth represent the ambition of the building's original commission. On St. Stephen's Green, the address alone speaks volumes.
